Confirmation of VIP Guests at Presidential Memorial and Burial Services

The Heads of State of the following countries will be attending this weekend’s official ceremonies to mark the passing of former President Hage Geingob:

Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Qatar, Zambia, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Madagascar, Rwanda, and São Tomé and Principe.

Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, will also attend on behalf of the British Royal Family, as well as the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, the Deputy Prime Minister of Eswatini, the United Nations Deputy-Secretary General, the Executive Director of SADC, the CEO of the African Peer Review Mechanism, the UN Deputy Special Representative (South Sudan), and other Government representatives of various countries, Non-Resident Ambassadors, and other eminent persons.

Former Heads of State HE Joseph Kabila, Former President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo; H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Former President of Liberia; H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, Former President of Nigeria; H.E. Thabo Mbeki Former President of South Africa; and H.E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the Former President of Tanzania, will also be in attendance.

There will also be representatives from the following bodies in attendance: the African Union Commission, the Commonwealth, the UN World Tourism Organization, the International Organization for Migration, and SAMIM.

The Protocol Department of the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation will attend to all VIP guests when they arrive at the stadium and burial site.
