Finnish police believe bullying was the motive for Tuesday’s deadly shooting at a school on the outskirts of the capital of Helsinki. A 12-year-old boy was taken into custody after allegedly killing another 12-year-old and wounding two girls. Police say the suspect revealed during questioning he was the target of bullying by his classmates. Police also said that the young suspect had only been a student at the Viertola school near Helsinki since the beginning of the year. According to the AFP news agency, police opened a murder investigation and attempted murder but said the suspect has been handed over to social services as he could not be held in police custody because of his age.
