South Africa’s Mpumalanga Police Investigate Seven Suspects Apprehended in Cash-in-Transit Heist

Police in Mpumalanga, South Africa are escalating efforts to connect the seven suspects detained during an attempted cash-in-transit heist in Emalahleni to other criminal activities. The suspects engaged in a shootout with police resulting in the fatal shooting of five armed suspects. During the operation, police seized a cache of firearms, including three AK47s, and recovered ammunition. Police spokesperson Donald Mdluli stated that investigations are ongoing to determine any links to previous crimes and dismantle criminal operations in the province.
