In the heart of our beloved country, we all feel the weight of the drought that grips our land. Every conversation seems to circle back to the desperate need for rain.

Each day, we hear the stories of our treasured clients—our farmers—caught in the grip of this relentless natural disaster. They face an unyielding reality: animals perishing, school fees unpaid, and the constant struggle to put food on the table.

At Agra, our roots run deep in agriculture, guided by our values, one of which is “We serve.” In the spirit of this value the Agra Staff Initiative Fund (ASIF), a fund solely sustained through voluntary contributions from our dedicated employees, made a heartfelt decision to donate N$50,000 to the Droogte Hulp Namibia Fund.

Each month, our employees contribute to this fund, driven by a shared vision of supporting those in need and making a tangible impact in our community.

Agra personnel and especially those within our branches who engage with our core client base, recognise the challenges faced by our farming community.

Inspired by this generosity, our Executive Committee (EXCO) decided to double the contribution with an additional N$100,000 from Agra.

The handover ceremony took place on Friday, 24 May 2024, at Agra Corporate Office. Henriette Le Grange and her committee members were present for the handover.

Representatives from Agra’s Staff Initiative Fund, committee members, Agra EXCO and the CEO: Mr Arnold Klein, were present to hand over the donations.

Chrislemien Stroh, Senior Manager: Marketing said, “This act of kindness would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our ASIF members. The monthly contributions made by staff from their salaries have made a profound impact, allowing us to extend a helping hand to those in desperate need, especially our farmers. Thank you for your dedication and compassion.”
