South African Government Deploys Disaster Team to Aid Eastern Cape Relief

S.A’s Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni says the government has deployed a disaster management team to the Eastern Cape to help with relief and rescue efforts. This comes as heavy rains have battered parts of the province over the weekend, leaving seven dead in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. More than one-thousand people have been displaced. Ntshavheni says the South African National Defence Force has also deployed a helicopter to help assess and access inaccessible areas:
