Dual Resignations Shake Landless People’s Movement Ahead of Elections

The Landless People’s Movement faced turmoil as deputy leader Henny Seibeb and MP Edson Isaaks resigned from the party and parliament. Seibeb’s departure follows reports of a serious rift with LPM leader Bernadus Swartbooi, with speculation that his resignation is linked to his removal as chief whip. This dual resignation has created uncertainty within the LPM just five months before national elections. Local political analyst Rakkel Andreas.

 

In the interim, the Swapo party’s Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa indicates that her party would appreciate former Landless People’s Movement Deputy President Henny Seibeb’s return.
