Integrated Mobile Voter Registration System Enhances Voter Registration for 2024 Elections

The Electoral Commission has introduced the Integrated Mobile Voter Registration System for the 2024 General Registration of Voters. Initially shifting from a manual paper-based system to a digital biometrics system in 2010-2013, the ECN upgraded to IMVRS after reviewing recent elections. This enhanced system integrates various electoral processes, uses mobile technology for greater efficiency, and includes advanced security measures. IMVRS, presented to stakeholders in 2023 and tested in early 2024, aims to ensure a credible voter register and support the upcoming presidential and national elections, despite minor initial glitches.
