Short-term insurer, Santam in South Africa has over the past 48 hours received claims from various parts of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, resulting from the severe weather that has impacted the provinces in the past few days. Flooding has claimed the lives of ten people and left over three-thousand displaced. Santam’s, Thabo Mabaso says to date, they have received just over 254 claims for damage to property and other assets from the Eastern Cape and 132 from KwaZulu-Natal:
