The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy in South Africa has announced substantial decreases in fuel prices. Effective today, the price of 95 unleaded petrol will drop by 99 cents per litre, while 93 unleaded petrol will decrease by one rand and five cents per litre. Diesel prices will see reductions ranging from 24 to 30 cents per litre, depending on the sulphur content, and illuminating paraffin will decrease by 18 cents per litre. This marks the second consecutive petrol price decrease in three months, attributed to favorable international oil prices and the rand/US dollar exchange rate.
