The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) has called on broadcasters to comply with the Broadcasting Code during the 2024 election coverage period, which runs from 26 September to 24 November 2024.
Legal Advisor: Complaints & Enforcement at CRAN, Simson Shimakeleni said broadcasters must provide equal airtime to all political parties, maintain transparent news reporting, and avoid discriminatory advertising practices.

On polling day, broadcasters are required to refrain from promoting any political party. Non-compliance with the Broadcasting Code may result in sanctions, including warnings, suspension, or even the revocation of broadcasting licenses.
CRAN encourages the public to report any violations to ensure fair media coverage during the election period.
