todayOctober 22, 2024 3

Background

  1. The NSA would like to inform the nation that the 2025/2026 Pilot Namibia Household Income and Expenditure Survey (NHIES) fieldwork, which had commenced on 30th September 2024, was successfully concluded yesterday, 20th October 2024.
  2. The Pilot NHIES survey aimed to test our readiness for the Main NHIES survey, set to commence from March 2025. The findings of the Pilot survey will not be published to the public but shall be utilised only by the NSA to help ensure the Main NHIES survey runs smoothly and collects high-quality data on household income, expenditures, and living conditions across Namibia. The NSA hereby informs the nation that until the Main NHIES survey commences in March 2025, there will no longer be field staff visiting households for NHIES survey data collection.
  3. NSA would like to thank all individuals and households that cooperated in this NHIES Pilot survey, and we encourage you to do so again next year when the Main NHIES survey data collection starts. We would also like to thank all stakeholders we engaged for support in the selected areas of the Pilot Survey, as without them this could not have been successful.
  4. In the meantime, NSA would like to encourage the public to apply for the 155 vacancies (51 Team Supervisors, 102 Interviewers, and 2 National IT Field Technicians) for the Main 2025/2026 NHIES survey, which will close on 25th October 2024. The vacancies are available on the NSA website.
  5. The NSA continues to value and appreciate all households that participate in statistical exercises and wishes to encourage everyone to continue supporting NSA surveys in the future as well. This is essential because the NSA does not collect data for itself but for the use of all stakeholders.
  6. For more information, please visit the NSA website (https://nsa.org.na) and social media pages.
