NAMIBIA SCHOOLS SPORT UNION (NSSU) SENDS 12 ATHLETES TO 2024 ISF GYMNASIADE

We take this opportunity to inform the nation through all media platforms that the NSSU is sending a team of 12 athletes (6 girls and 6 boys) to participate in the 2024 International School Sport Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade, which will be held in Manama, Bahrain, from 23-31 October 2024. The NSSU team was selected during the National Athletics Championships that took place in Windhoek from 10-12 May 2024.

The 2024 ISF Gymnasiade represents more than just a competition. It is a convergence of youth, talent, and the spirit of international cooperation, as athletes will compete in 26 different sport codes. At NSSU, we are grateful that we can provide these Namibian youth with an opportunity and a stage where they can showcase their dedication, skill, and sportsmanship in a truly global arena.

This will be the third time that Namibia, under the banner of the NSSU, will participate in the ISF Gymnasiade after competing in the inaugural edition in Belgrade, Serbia, in 2021 and the U/15 Gymnasiade in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, last year (2023). The delegation will depart Namibia on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, from Hosea Kutako International Airport and will return to Namibia on Friday, 1 November 2024.
