The Cancer Association is urging the public and corporate community to support the newly launched Palliative Care Namibia Fund to assist financially vulnerable state patients. From 1 March 2025, the fund will enable state patients to access ward care at House Zietsman, which currently accommodates private patients. The facility aims to provide care for up to nine terminally ill patients, ensuring the same quality of care as private patients. According to Rolf Hansen, CEO of CAN, financial support is urgently needed to cover medicine, consumables, and meals, as well as to expand the welfare arm of Palliative Care Namibia.
