The Namibian government has not received official communication from the U.S. regarding the deportation of 19 Namibian nationals, learning about it only through online reports. Speaking to local media, Ambassador Penda Naanda, Executive Director of the International Relations ministry, emphasized that Namibia has procedures in place to verify the nationality of deportees and may contact their families if needed. The deportations are part of the Trump administration’s intensified immigration crackdown, which aims to remove 1.4 million non-citizens under final deportation orders.
