The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) says Namibia should start looking at the several options available to generate power from its uranium resources.

IPPR Executive Director Graham Hopwood says such options would reduce its current reliance on Zambia and South Africa for power supply, with Namibia being the third-largest producer of uranium.

The IPPR released its latest quarterly economic review, analysing the country’s potential for nuclear-generated power.

This follows its inclusion in the Swapo manifesto and its recently launched manifesto implementation plan.
