Over 22 schools in the Oshana, Omusati, and Ohangwena regions have suspended classes due to flooding water streams.
This follows good rains in Northern Namibia and southern Angola, causing many schools to close.
Thus, teachers and learners cannot cross water without access to roads.
According to Omusati Director of Education Paulus Kashiimbi, over 12 schools have suspended Classes, including all grades, saying that most of the iishana are full.
In addition, seven schools in Oshana are affected, of which lessons at all schools are suspended, while in Ohangwena, only three schools are permanently closed.
Most of the oshanas are complete, and the water levels keep rising daily; some people who stay near water-prone areas have relocated.
