Construction work for the Windhoek District Hospital is yet to begin 11 months after the groundbreaking ceremony was held in May 2024 on farm 108 in Havana in the Moses Garoeb Constituency.

Last year, several government officials, including President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and former health minister Dr. Kalumbi Shangula visited the site to mark the official start of the project.

The planned hospital will have a 500-bed capacity, staff accommodation, as well as mental health and frail care units. The construction is expected to be completed by 2027.
