NamRA extends tax return deadline to 31 October

Background

NamRa Chief Strategic Communications and Support Engagements Officer, Steven Ndorokaze

The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has extended the filing deadline for certain income tax returns to 31 October 2025, citing system readiness delays. This extension applies to returns originally due on 31 July, 31 August, and 30 September 2025, the agency announced in an official statement.

NamRA spokesperson Steven Ndorokaze urged affected taxpayers to take advantage of the extra time to update their records or submit filings, and reiterated the importance of compliance to avoid penalties.

Taxpayers who have missed earlier deadlines now have until late October to catch up without invoking penalties. The update also reflects the growing need for infrastructure improvements in NamRA’s Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS).

The agency’s awareness campaign, including office expansions and outreach services, indicates a shift toward more taxpayer-centric support during busy filing periods. These efforts are underscored by NamRA messaging stressing legal obligations and compliance efforts for accurate annual assessments
