Model store at Auas Valley has introduced new features, such as a robotic shopping assistant and self-checkouts station, which allows shoppers to scan and pay their own goods.
The store which operates under the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group was previously known as Pick n Pay, rebranded to Model on 01July this year.
The robot is designed to guide customers through the shop, locate products, and provide useful information, blending innovation with practical customer service.
Vice-President Lucia Witbooi, who officially opened the store on Wednesday, praised O&L for setting new benchmarks in customer experience and employment standards.
Witbooi noted that the group’s recognition as a Great Place to Work Certified company reflects that Namibian businesses can achieve world-class standards.
Model Managing Director Graeme Mouton said the store offers handpicked and expanded brands.
O&L Executive Chairman Sven Thieme stressed the company’s role in tackling unemployment through its 18 Model stores countrywide,  which have created over 1 600 jobs.
