Namibia eases visa access for Congolese travellers

today1 October, 2025

Background

The Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) has welcomed the announcement that the Namibian Consulate in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is now issuing visas to Congolese citizens wishing to travel to Namibia.

WBCG says the decision will ease cross-border movement along the Walvis Bay–Ndola–Lubumbashi Development Corridor, reduce delays, and support regional trade.

Marketing and Communications Officer O’Brien Simasiku said the development strengthens bilateral relations between Namibia and the DRC while improving connectivity for both people and cargo.

He encouraged travellers, including truck drivers and tourists from the Katanga and Lualaba provinces, to obtain visas in advance from the Namibian Consulate in Lubumbashi.
