Poverty Eradication Ministry’s response prompts BIG Coalition To Proceed With Protest on August 26

today16 August, 2024

Background

Despite responses from the Poverty Eradication ministry, the Basic Income Grant Coalition says they will proceed with its nationwide protest on August 26, aimed at addressing youth unemployment and poverty. The organization says its petition handed over in June has not garnered urgent and favorable responses. 21 year-old researcher from BIG, Tjipura Tjipura, asserts that Namibia, rich in resources, is fully capable of feeding its 3 million residents.
