President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has expressed confidence in her newly appointed team. Nandi-Ndaitwah says Namibia has a pool of committed and qualified individuals ready to serve the nation. She assured the public that her selected team could deliver on the mandate given by the people of Namibia.
Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasised that the selection process was difficult due to the high number of qualified and committed Namibians. However, she expressed confidence that her chosen team would effectively serve the nation and address key national priorities.
“Namibia has a number of committed Namibians, qualified and ready to work. And for you now to choose from this is not easy. But I want to tell you and to assure you the team that I have chosen, I have no doubt that the team members will deliver what you have mandated us to do as the people of this country. You must assist me to give this team a chance to do their work. What is important is not who is there for me and it should not be who is there for you. For you, you should wait the service to be delivered,” said Ndaitwah.
Nandi-Ndaitwah further explained that her decision to restructure government ministries and agencies is to eliminate duplications and reduce expenditure.
“In order to eradicate duplications, cutting on expenditures and to ensure a smooth and effective implementation of our developmental programs and also to ensure that we manage both the government and parliament as our people have again given us a majority in our national assembly,” said Ndaitwah.
The newly appointed cabinet consists of 14 ministries and seven deputy ministers.
