President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says the Namibia Student Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) funding model is under review and the institution is to be reintegrated into the ministry of education.

The President was speaking at the launch of the 6th National Development Plan (NDP6) in Windhoek on Monday.

She said work is underway to fully eliminate tuition fees for students enrolled in public Higher Education Institutions and Vocational Training Centres as of the 2026 academic year.

Nandi-Ndaitwah added that to ensure a smooth transition, a national task force of stakeholders has already been formed.

She said the taskforce is conducting consultations on admission, financing, institutional designation and record keeping regulations that are ongoing and set to conclude by the end of July this year.
