A 30-year-old Yango driver was robbed at gunpoint in Wanaheda during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident happened between 02h00 and 03h00 at the four-way stop of Reverend BG Karuera and Okarundu streets.

According to the police, the victim was driving from Khomasdal towards Luxury Hill when he noticed a white Toyota Land Cruiser double cab following him.

Upon reaching the intersection, two vehicles reportedly blocked him from the front, while the Land Cruiser stopped behind him.

It is alleged that about six suspects exited the vehicles. One of them pointed a firearm at the victim and ordered him to pull off the road.

The suspects then smashed the small back window of his vehicle and demanded access.

They stole the driver’s car battery, two side mirrors, car key, cellphone, and N$800 in cash before fleeing the scene in their vehicles.

No arrests or recoveries have been made yet, and police investigations are ongoing.
