Maureen Hinda-Mbuende appointed Namcor’s Interim MD

The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) has announced the appointment of Maureen Hinda-Mbuende as its Interim Managing Director, effective 25 August 2025, for a period of six months. 


In a statement on Friday, Namcor said the appointment follows a recommendation and endorsement from shareholders, and is envisaged to stabilise the company’s operations and strengthen its capacity to deliver on its strategic mandate. 
“Hinda-Mbuende, who boasts an extensive career in finance, governance, and institutional management, brings a wealth of experience from both the public and private sectors.


“She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa and has previously served as Deputy Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, and Deputy Minister of International Relations.


“She also held senior positions at the National Housing Enterprise and the City Savings and Investment Bank. 
“Her leadership portfolio extends to board memberships at the Agricultural Bank of Namibia and the Namibia Press Agency (Nampa). 


“Hinda-Mbuende steps into her interim role at a critical time, as Namcor navigates its operational and strategic transformation to strengthen Namibia’s position in the global energy sector, Namcor said.
