A new U.S.-funded programme in Uganda is taking a holistic approach to tackling HIV by addressing both mental and physical health among vulnerable adolescents.

The initiative aims to provide young people with the support they need to live healthier, fuller lives, combining counselling, mentorship, and medical care.

Officials say the programme prioritises mental wellbeing alongside traditional HIV prevention and treatment, acknowledging the critical role mental health plays in treatment adherence and overall quality of life.
