Von Bach dam hits lowest level since 2017

The Von Bach dam is currently standing at 12.6%, the lowest since January 2017 while the Swakoppoort levels continue to decline. NamWater has meanwhile faced challenges transferring water from Swakoppoort to Von Bach, leaving Windhoek reliant on aquifers, should the rainy season disappoint. President Mbumba declares national mourning period

President Nangolo Mbumba has officially declared a national mourning period starting from 5 February 2023 until the date of the late President Hage Geingob's funeral. The Namibia Press Agency reports that all national flags should be flown at half-mast throughout this period, across the country, and at all Namibian diplomatic missions. The date of the burial is yet to be announced.
