The second phase of polling in the six-week long Indian elections began where 88 constituencies across 13 states will cast their ballot. The southern states of Kerala and Karnataka are in focus where Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP has tried to make inroads ahead of the elections. Blinken in Shanghai as he kicks off China trip

U.S Secretary of State, Antony Blinken is in talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on Friday to discuss a range of complex issues, including deepening strains over China's backing of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Blinken is likely to meet Chinese President Xi Xinping on Friday before he returns to Washington, although neither side has yet confirmed a meeting. Laura Westbrook reports from Hong Kong.
