Inflation Inches Up to 3.4 Percent  

The Namibia Statistics Agency’s Mirjam Shihepo reports that headline inflation in November 2025 rose to 3.4 percent from 3 percent in November 2024. Monthly inflation stayed at 0 percent, with Zone 1 recording the lowest annual rate at 3.3 percent, while Zone 2 and Zone 3 both registered 3.4 percent. Shihepo has more.

BoN Sees Slower Growth, Launches Data Hub 

The Bank of Namibia projects 3.5% GDP growth this year due to weaker manufacturing and US tariffs on diamonds. Namibia reports trade deficit of N$5.5 billion

    The Namibia Statistics Agency has released the Namibia International Merchandise Trade Statistics Bulletin for the month of November 2024 which indicates that the country’s exports stood at 12.2 billion and imports at 17.7 billion resulting in the country's trade deficit of 5.5 billion. South Africa’s Manufacturing Output Drops 0.8% in September

  According to Statistics South Africa, the country’s manufacturing output fell by 0.8-percent in September, with the automotive sector largely responsible. This marks the second month of declining output, following a 1.2-percent drop in August. StatsSA’s Nicolai Claassen says production in motor vehicles, parts, and transport equipment fell by 18.7-percent, accounting for a significant portion of the overall decline:

Trade deficit reaches N$3.6 billion in August 2024

The Namibia Statistics Agency has reported a trade balance deficit of N$3.6 billion in August 2024 which is an increase from N$2.1 billion in July and a decrease from N$4.9 billion in August 2023. Exports were adjusted upward by N$7 million, while imports decreased by N$1 million, mainly due to higher export values of fish and precious stones, according to Namibia Statistics Agency spokesperson Mirjam Shihepo.

Transport, housing, and food drive 4.6% inflation rate

The Namibia Statistics Agency has reported that transport, housing, water, electricity, gas, other fuels, and food and non-alcoholic beverages were the biggest contributors to the 4.6 percent annual inflation rate in July, each contributing 1.0 percentage points.
