NAMDIA Partners with Police to Secure Diamond Operations

Namib Desert Diamonds and the Namibian Police Force have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to reinforce the security and integrity of NAMDIA’s operations. Beverley Coussement, NAMDIA’s Public Relations and Communications Officer, said the partnership will focus on improving coordination, information sharing, risk management, rapid response, and security protocols in the company’s diamond-handling processes.

Namdia Denies Ignoring Warnings Ahead of Diamond Heist

Namdia spokesperson Beverley Coussement has refuted claims that the company overlooked security warnings prior to the January diamond heist and dismissed suggestions of insider involvement, as reported by Willem Snyman for NewsOnOne. The remarks come after allegations that Namdia ignored repeated alerts about a possible robbery. The company has since filed a case against its security provider, G4S.

Namdia recovers N$40.6 Million in stolen diamonds as investigation continues

Namib Desert Diamonds (NAMDIA) has given an update on the armed robbery at its premises, confirming that diamonds worth N$40.6 million have been recovered out of the N$314.9 million stolen. The Namibian Police Force is leading the investigation, with two suspects arrested and scheduled to appear in court on 23 May 2025.
