The Namibian Police Force in collaboration with the Women Action for Development has organised a five-day workshop on gender-based violence and the law for all regional police commanders and their deputies. The Khomas region has reported the highest number of gender-based violence cases in Namibia, with 3,302 incidents from January 2020 to December last year. Following Khomas are the Ohangwena region with 1,807 cases, Hardap with 1,746, and Oshana with 1,459. Nationally, 17,669 GBV cases were recorded, with 81.2% of the victims being women.
