India rubbishes reports that link Modi to Sikh separatist killing in Canada

  India has labeled a Canadian media report 'ludicrous' after it alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in the know about plans to allegedly assassinate a Sikh separatist leader in Canada. Bilateral ties hit a new low earlier in the year, after Ottawa claimed Modi's right hand man and Home Minister Amit Shah was behind a campaign that targeted Sikh separatists on Canadian soil.     Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nigerian President Bola Tinubu have pledged to strengthen their strategic ties during Modi's first visit to Nigeria. According to Duetsche Welle, the two leaders discussed a shared focus on securing permanent representation for both countries on the UN Security Council and highlighted their commitment to advancing the priorities of the Global South in the global arena.

Modi hits out at Canada in deepening diplomatic row

Indian prime minister Narendra Modi has hit out at Canada in an escalating row, accusing the country of making "cowardly attempts to intimidate" India's diplomats. Modi-Xi to hold first bilateral meeting in 5 years

India’s right wing leaders condemn Trump attack

Leaders from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party have condemned this weekend's attack on former US President Donald Trump. Some have even accused the opposition of similarly 'inciting violence' against Prime Minister Modi. Over the weekend, Modi tweeted to say he was 'deeply concerned' by the attack on 'his friend' Donald Trump, adding 'violence has no place in politics'. Neha Poonia has more.
