UN Considers Resolution Urging Ceasefire and Aid Access in Sudan

  The UN Security Council is reviewing a British-drafted resolution urging Sudan’s rival factions to end hostilities and permit safe, unrestricted aid deliveries across borders and conflict zones as per Reuters. Conflict broke out in April 2023, stemming from a power struggle between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, leading to a severe displacement crisis worldwide.

German Chancellor calls for peace talks with Russia

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has called for renewed peace talks to settle the conflict in Ukraine, saying the next round of discussions should include representatives from Russia. Ukraine and China discuss ending Russia war

Ukraine's foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba is in China this week, he says, to find common ground with Beijing and discuss a way to end the war with Russia. He has so far met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Guangzhou, where he said Ukraine was ready for talks if Moscow was prepared to negotiate in good faith. Megumi Lim reports from Kyiv.
