Mali’s Junta Appoints New Prime Minister After Firing Criticized Leader

  Rueters reports that Mali's ruling junta appointed spokesperson Abdoulaye Maiga as prime minister on Thursday, a day after dismissing Choguel Maiga, who had criticized the administration. Choguel Maiga had condemned the junta's failure to organize elections within the promised 24-month transition back to democracy, angering the ruling generals. The move came after his public criticism, as reported by state television ORTM and sources close to Maiga.

India rubbishes reports that link Modi to Sikh separatist killing in Canada

  India has labeled a Canadian media report 'ludicrous' after it alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in the know about plans to allegedly assassinate a Sikh separatist leader in Canada. Bilateral ties hit a new low earlier in the year, after Ottawa claimed Modi's right hand man and Home Minister Amit Shah was behind a campaign that targeted Sikh separatists on Canadian soil. Medical Interns Demand Overtime Pay or Halt Overtime Work

Over 300 medical interns are threatening to stop working overtime unless the government settles their outstanding overtime pay within five days. The interns, employed by the Health and Social Services ministry, staged a protest in Windhoek and submitted a petition to the Office of the Prime Minister. If their concerns remain unaddressed, they plan to limit their working hours to 40 hours per week, as per Health Professions Council guidelines.
