Support Needed for Katutura Hospital Goodie Bag Initiative

In response to the dire conditions at Katutura Hospital, the WeCare Foundation is spearheading a heartfelt initiative to bring some much-needed relief and joy to patients. Between June and July, the foundation plans to deliver goodie bags to the hospital, specifically targeting the maternity ward, pediatric ward, and even the emergency room if enough donations are received. The initiative highlights the urgent need for support and the power of community involvement in making a difference.

The State of Katutura Hospital

Katutura Hospital has long been grappling with inadequate facilities and poor conditions, particularly affecting vulnerable patients such as newborns with compromised immune systems. The WeCare Foundation’s initiative aims to alleviate some of the stress faced by these patients and their families through a comprehensive deep clean of the maternity and pediatric wards, followed by the distribution of goodie bags.

How You Can Help

The success of this initiative hinges on community support. The WeCare Foundation is seeking donations of various items to meet the hospital’s needs. Here’s a list of the items required:

• Pack of Sanitary Pads

Goodie Bags for Sick Children:

• Diapers (Any Size)

• Drink O Pop Cooldrink or Juice Boxes
• Packet of Chips
• Mini Sanitizer

Goodie Bags for the Emergency Room:

• Mini Juice or Drink O Pop
• Toilet Paper or Cleaning Wipes

Additionally, the foundation needs a large number of Ziplock bags for packaging, as well as cleaning materials such as sponges and dishrags.
