South Africa is hosting G20 Employment Working Group meetings in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape, focusing on labour and employment issues. The four-day event will cover youth employment, gender equality, income inequality, and digitalisation’s impact. Guest countries from Africa have been invited to enhance regional cooperation. Employment and Labour minister Nomakhosazana Meth says the meetings align with South Africa’s G20 presidency theme of solidarity, equality and sustainability:

UK Defence Sec Says “We Must Re-Arm Britain”

The UK's Defence Secretary has announced "we must re-arm Britain", as part of Monday's speech outlining reforms to the Ministry of Defence. John Healey's speech comes following Prime Minister Keir Starmer saying the UK faces a generational challenge and calling on European allies to spend more on defence, having been left out of talks between the US and Russia over the War in Ukraine.
