Lancet study says air pollution could be behind deaths in India

Air pollution - especially due to finer pollutants that can get lodged in the lungs could be causing 1.5 million deaths in India according to a Lancet Planetary Health study. The study claims that no one in the country lives in an area where average yearly air quality levels meet the World Health Organisation's standards. Ishan Garg tells us more.

French oil giant TotalEnergies has halted its investments into Adani Group amid bribery allegations against the Indian conglomerate. US authorities have accused billionaire Gautam Adani and other executives of paying more than $250 million in bribes to government officials to win solar energy contracts. India rubbishes reports that link Modi to Sikh separatist killing in Canada

  India has labeled a Canadian media report 'ludicrous' after it alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in the know about plans to allegedly assassinate a Sikh separatist leader in Canada. Bilateral ties hit a new low earlier in the year, after Ottawa claimed Modi's right hand man and Home Minister Amit Shah was behind a campaign that targeted Sikh separatists on Canadian soil. India's richest and second most populous state Maharashtra (prono: MAH-HA-RUSH-TRA) is voting to choose a new government on Wednesday.
