Chinese Firm Supports Nujoma Memorial in Rundu

The China Civil Engineering and Construction Company has donated items worth N$20,000 to support the Rundu memorial service for Founding President Sam Nujoma. The company also provided workers and trucks to assist in preparing the Rundu Sports Stadium for the event. Man dies during an NDF recruitment training

    A man identified as Andrea Kaurembi Kambimba (20) died on Wednesday while participating in a Namibian Defence Force (NDF) recruitment training in Rundu, Kavango East Region. According to police crime investigations coordinator, Bonifatius Kanyetu, the deceased collapsed during a 2.5 kilometer race between Rundu Youth Centre and Rundu Vocational Training Centre in Kehemu. Rundu is currently facing a water crisis, with many households going without water for hours daily and schools having to send children home due to shortages. Transport, housing, and food drive 4.6% inflation rate

The Namibia Statistics Agency has reported that transport, housing, water, electricity, gas, other fuels, and food and non-alcoholic beverages were the biggest contributors to the 4.6 percent annual inflation rate in July, each contributing 1.0 percentage points. Malnutrition affects 14,000 in Kavango East

The Kavango East Region has recorded 15 deaths due to malnutrition this year, with around 14,000 people affected. Last year, the region saw an increase in malnutrition cases with 2,716 affected and 30 deaths. HIV patients and pregnant women are among the affected groups.
