Thousands Of Drivers Face Arrest Over Unpaid Traffic Fines

As the festive season approaches, Namibian Police warn that approximately 148,000 drivers nationwide face arrest for outstanding traffic violations totaling N$170.8 million. Traffic Commissioner Petrus Swartz advises motorists to clear fines at local traffic units to avoid arrest at checkpoints. Regions with the highest warrants include Khomas, Otjozondjupa, Oshana, Omusati, and Erongo.

Namibian Police investigate Multisave Supermarket armed robbery

An armed robbery occurred at Multisave Supermarket in Walvis Bay on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. According to the Namibian Police, three suspects armed with pistols robbed an employee at gunpoint outside the entrance and stole a bag containing N$313,725 and car keys. Investigations are underway.
